INTERNATIONAL Tutoring
An international tutor helps an exchange student to make his/her stay in a foreign country and culture as easy as possible. The tutor meets the student at the central station, takes him/her to the apartment, shows the University, grocery stores, post office, banks etc. The tutor helps the student in any matter related to studying or living.
Shortly: Tutor is the first friend in a foreign country.
INTERNATIONAL SUMMER TERM
Summer Term is arranged between May and August. We offer intensive courses in English in the field of Business and Information Technology. You can join one course or spend the whole summer in Mikkeli. In addition to studying, you can join many kind of free-time activities like paddling, hiking and fishing. IC will arrange programme for the summer term students but you can also explore the region on your own. The lecturers of the courses mainly come from our foreign partner universities. The participating students are also from our partner universities mainly from Europe.
Participation in the Summer Term is not just about improving one’s knowledge of a particular field of study. It is also about expanding one’s understanding of other cultures. Students have the opportunity to work together on course assignments, interact with lecturers from other countries, and make new friends from all over the world. In addition, summertime in Finland is a memorable experience, with plenty of warm sunshine and long summer nights. Students who travel to Mikkeli may take advantage of its location to explore Finland and cities in neighbouring countries such as St. Petersburg in Russia, Tallinn in Estonia and Stockholm in Sweden.
Incoming exchange students are taken care of by International Services of Mikkeli UAS. The office is located at the Main Campus, building X, 1st floor.
